Favorite Blogs

2 posts in one day! Are you lovin' it?!

Okay, so I am a total blog nerd...I have a Google Reader account that is filled with all sorts of loveliness in the form of everything from cooking blogs, to fashion blogs, to travel blogs, to Catholic blogs...I swear, you name it, I've probably got a blog to tell you to check out!

I'm going to start 'shout outs' to some of my favorite blogs, so here's a few to start:

My Favorite Things
This blog is from a sweet card maker named Dawn. She doesn't know it, but, secretly in my mind, we're sort of BFF. I love love love her style of making cards and I also love love love her sweet personality and all the wonderful things she shares on her blog. I think the key to a good blog is sort of giving people all sorts of pieces of your life so they do really feel like they could be your best friend. She always jokes about how you should just sit down and have a cup of coffee while reading, like you're talking to a friend, and the funny thing is, that's just how I feel. Thanks for the inspiration, Dawn!

For those of you who don't know me, I've lost 115 lbs on Weight Watchers in about the last year and a half or so. Along the way, THROUGH HER BLOG, I found the sweetest, most amazing photographer that ever was...seriously, ya'll, she's got the greatest talent. I contacted Courtney to ask her if there was *any* way she'd be willing to photograph me through my weight loss journey. Well, low and behold, she said YES! (AMEN!!!) God has truly blessed me by putting her in her life and I know that you'll love her photographs. Ladies, if any of you need a wedding photographer, RUN to the phone and book her...you won't be sorry! Oh, and she loves Jesus just like me...*love* :) Love ya Courtney!

Aggie Catholics
This is a great site that is run by the Texas A&M Catholic center. They post some of the coolest articles and thoughts about Catholicism and it's usually one of my daily 'boosts' of faith throughout my day. Anything from youtube videos, to articles, to just reflections...definitely a great site.

Google Reader
I mentioned Google Reader at the beginning of my post. For those of you who are new to checking out blogs, Google Reader is where you can log in to the site (with a google account--if you don't have one, they're free!), and have a free 'home' for all your blogs that you look at. When I first started checking out blogs, I would bookmark the site and then go back everyday to see if they were updated. Well, Google Reader eliminates that. You add a site, by putting it in the new 'subscription' box, and then next time you log in, it shows you which sites have new posts by them being bolded. It is SUPER easy to use and I swear, it's the coolest thing for blog nerds. Do it...I swear, you won't be sorry.

Finally, if you're going to start checking out blogs, one thing I did at the beginning was look at the sidebars of my favorite blogs to see their 'favorite' blogs...I'd click through and see what was up and if I thought it was a blog for me, I'd add it to my Google Reader.
